The bracelet workshop is the quietest activity in the repertoire, and that is exactly what makes it useful: it lands well after the games, when the group needs to come down before the cake.
How it runs
I set up a table with beads in a range of colours, shapes and sizes, elastic cord and clasps. Each child picks their own and builds the bracelet their way. I help where needed, mostly the younger ones with the final knot.
There is no model to copy and no right answer, which is why it works. Every bracelet comes out different and every child takes theirs home.
Mixed-age groups
When there is a wide age range in the same group I bring two sets of materials: large beads and thick cord for the youngest, smaller beads and more intricate patterns for the older ones. Nobody finds it too easy or too hard.
